Good Guys Wear Black

By: Angie Wiatrowski

First of all, I never really understood that phrase, ‘Good Guys Wear Black’, when it came to the White Sox. Mainly because they’re the White Sox, not the Black Sox. I’ve actually heard a conversation with Bobby Jenks on television in the bullpen pondering the same thing. Why are they the White Sox and they wear black? Hmm… who knows.

Anyway, enough of that. I can’t say enough how much I love and enjoy hanging out with the White Sox. I haven’t been to the clubhouse in a long time and upon returning today I was told how much I was missed. Most the guys said how happy they were to see me again and asked where I’ve been. Toby Hall actually said they missed me around there. It just makes me feel so much better watching them play knowing that they’re just a bunch of really cool guys and are just happy to be there to play baseball.

Walking around the locker room Brian Anderson, Nick Swisher, and bullpen coach Juan Nieves came by with a pat on the back and a “Hey kid how are ya? Where’ve ya been?”The interview with Joe Crede was even better. He was more than happy to talk to me and was nothing but nice.

At the same time you have a group of reporters in a giant circle arguing about the ‘85 Bears. They turn to me and ask what I think, and then soon realize it’s useless because I wasn’t even born. There’s always something new hanging out with the Sox and I could definitely do this every day.
